National Council for Policies to Combat Poverty and Exclusion (CNLE)
The CNLE reports to the Prime Minister, and it advises the Government on all general questions with regards to the fight against poverty and social exclusion. It ensures agreement between the government authorities and not-for-profit organisations, agencies and qualified individuals who are active in the field of fighting poverty and social exclusion.
The National Observatory on Poverty and Social Exclusion
The observatory was set up on the basis of the law to fight against exclusion in July 1998. It is a multidisciplinary council which aims i) to collate and disseminate data relative to poverty and exclusion, ii) to commission studies, research and evaluations and iii) to submit an annual report on the information collected. This information is given to the government, the parliament and the general public.
