DETERMINE Key Outcomes

DETERMINE Consortium Members engaged in a wide range of activities that contribute to a better understanding of how to improve health equity in the EU through a SDH approach.

A number of Consortium Members identified policies and actions beyond the health sector in their countries that address the social determinants of health inequalities.
Other Consortium Members identified approaches to address health inequalities that they consider innovative in the context of their countries. Three pilot projects have been selected and received fuding. They are currently evaluated to asses their effectiveness and transferability at the EU level.
In addition, a large number of Consortium members consulted with decision makers outside the health sector in their countries to assess their understanding and attitudes towards health equity and their role in achieving this.
Examples of economic assessments that provide an economic rational for investing in the sociel determinants of helaht to improve health equity have been identified in a number of partner countries.
DETERMINE partners have carried out capacity building activities to stimulate further action on the social determinants of health to reduce health inequalities. Actions have been mainly undertaken in the areas of advocacy and awareness raising, partnership development and skill development. Actions and initiatives have been summarized in a draft report.
